What diversity means at HSBC Group
Diversity and inclusion are integral parts of who we are. HSBC has always brought together people from different backgrounds and cultures. Diverse ideas and outlooks help us to create opportunities, innovate, manage risk and grow sustainably. This brings many benefits to our customers, our business and our people.
We want HSBC to be a place where people are valued and supported to achieve their potential. Everyone is expected to treat each other with dignity and respect, creating an inclusive culture to support equal opportunities. We don't tolerate discrimination, bullying, harassment and victimisation on any grounds.
Our culture
At HSBC Assurances Vie (France), we actively work to remove barriers and encourage people from diverse backgrounds to apply, work and thrive in our company.
Here are just a few examples of what we do with the support of HSBC Group to promote a culture of diversity and inclusion:
- Investing in learning, upskilling and development to ensure everyone has access to opportunities, including our Future Skills curriculum and our leadership accelerator programmes for diverse talent.
- Wherever possible, we support our employees who want to adopt flexible and alternative ways of working.
Global employee networks
The HSBC Group has eight global employee networks. This brings together tens of thousands of people all around the world with common characteristics and interests, as well as advocates for inclusion.
Within these networks, four employee groups work more specifically in France on:
- gender (50/50 Partner of Balance)
- LGBT+ communities (HSBC Pride France)
- support for parents of children with disabilities (WeHandicap!)
- cognitive diversity (Atypik!)
HSBC Assurances Vie (France) employees lead these groups:
- WeHandicap!: for employees who are parents or carers of people with disabilities, to exchange ideas and help each other
- Atypik!: raises awareness of cognitive diversity (HPI, DYS, ADHD, multi-potentials, hypersensitivity, etc), and facilitates exchanges and mutual support
Creating opportunities
Our Group creates and develops opportunities both inside and outside HSBC. Through charity partnerships and volunteering opportunities, HSBC encourages people to share their skills and make a positive difference to society.
In addition, we approach our business through the lens of inclusion.
