HSBC Assurances Vie (France) and sustainability

Promoting social and environmental matters through a sustainable development strategy.

Integrating ESG into our strategy

Since 2021, HSBC Assurances Vie (France) has integrated environmental, social and governance (ESG) subjects into the company’s strategy.

Adopted on 8 November 2019, the Energy and Climate Law sets targets for France's climate and energy policy. The text includes the goal of carbon neutrality by 2050, in response to the climate emergency and the Paris Agreement.

Article 29 of this law clarifies and strengthens the system of extra-financial transparency for market players. It completes existing European law in three complementary areas: climate, biodiversity and the inclusion of ESG factors in the risk management and governance of financial institutions.

It's within this context that the publication of the Report on the Energy and Climate Law of HSBC Assurances Vie (France) has taken place every year since 2022 (for the 2021 financial year).
